Live with it now ✰March 6, 2020 and everything went downhill. That last day of in person school. The last day we saw our our teachers in skin. The last time we strolled the courtyard and did school seriously.  After the first week itself, we saw the news headlines about the Novel Coronavirus bubbling. Soon we had this micro-organism dominate our lives and taking the world in an uproar.  The declaration of this epidemic to a pandemic and completely changing our lives. And it was here to stay.  Our school, instead of us making our way to it, came to our homes. We were once told to put the screen down and focus on the books, now it has become, "don't look in the notes, look at what I'm sharing. Eyes on the screen. "  What I saw was prevalent in both the beginnings of online school. Initially everyone feigned an enthusiasm in this futuristic school setup. However, it soon died down to mornings full of vague learning, responses from select people and the sound of teacher

Common Ground

Finding Togetherness Disclaimer: I am going to use quite a few "Mean Girls" references here :) Let me start off with the obvious. We have all hated on a girl we barely know for empty-headed reasons that do not deserve the "hate her" tag.  Now, I want to ask everyone reading, is it worth it to not meet an amazing, different and interesting person because of a baseless reason? More so now that we have a very limited amount of time as schoolers?  I am not implying that we be best of friends but finding a common ground, a safe and sane place where we all stand together without animosity is quite an aspiration to have.  How to find this common ground?  ✰Recognise one common problem:  Girl world is an anthill. So much is going on around every individual yet  we fail to recognise the fact that everyone deals with the same issues as we do. Even the proclaimed "queen bee" has felt the same issues as anyone else. Knowing that everyone deals with the same problems

Worth it?

Hatred When was the last time you said you "hate someone"?  To my colleagues reading this, I presume someone from school. Someone you probably don't know well, but decided to hate because you heard the rumours fly around. "Her? Her who did this? Who talks like that? Hah, I hate her!" Ask yourself. If this person never truly gave you the reason to hate them, never was in your way, probably never spoke to you worth "hating"? I'm going to get a tad vulnerable now so brace yourself     We truly are living the classic high school life, aren't we? Rife with drama, filled with gossip, rumours flying like birds in the skies of our campus. Anyone from our grade, we have something to say about.  In 2018 (roughly) we saw the emergence of "confession pages" with our school's name, aghast with our names. As we all know, mine was not quite in the background. Turned out people had quite a bit to say about me. Given that these pages kept the per

Filtered Pov: you compare yourself to the glossed out world of social media. ⚡️ask yourself: Let's say you were to post a picture from your work day on Instagram. Wouldn't you primp a little more for that picture? Wouldn't you want to amp your usual work ensemble with something more present and on brand? Would you have someone click or click about 30 pictures and post the best one? This goes to show that netizens and influencers alike would post highlights . Meaning that what they would show their followers would be an enhanced picture of something everyone normally does, thus making a subtle yet noticeable difference between themselves and their audience. ⚡️insights: The world of Instagram is made out to be perfect. No doubt that there are different definitions of perfect, but at the end of the day anyone posting with a wide following would want to fit in to certain parameters created by ourselves.  Standards are set on body image, appearance, picture taking skills as
